Counseling for graduate students in Gainesville

Evening sessions for graduate students from any school, in the office or by video, planned around lab and teaching hours.

What graduate students bring

A study desk at night with stacked books, a laptop and a desk lamp

Deadlines with no end, an advisor you cannot read, money worries, living far from family, and the feeling that everyone else has it figured out. Many also bring anxiety or burnout, and we work on those too.

If your school offers free counseling, I tell you so on the phone call; it may be the better first stop. Some students come to me when they want someone outside the school, or after their free sessions run out.

Questions about counseling for graduate students

Do you tell my school or department anything?

No. What you say stays between us, within the limits Florida law sets, which I explain in the first session. I do not contact your school without your written permission.
